My name is Krista Gutzman, I am 38, and I am a full-time stay at home mom who also works part-time as a baby and child wrangler in the video and photo studios for Fisher-Price.

Where are you located?

I am located in Buffalo, NY.

Are you a cradle Catholic, convert or revert?

I am a cradle Catholic.

What’s been the biggest game changer in your Catholic faith?

The biggest game changer in my Catholic faith came when I introduced meditation in my life. I found myself drifting in quiet prayer very often in those moments of inner awareness that led me to strengthen how I talk with God. Prayer journaling has also become a beautiful way of reaching out to God in conversation. Both of which have increased my faith, my awareness of my dependence on God, and my relationship with Him as his beloved daughter.

Name a saint you identify with and share why.

I like to identify with Saint Monica who is my confirmation namesake. She is the patron saint of patience and perseverance. Persevering has been quality that I've held dear to my heart throughout each stage and chapter of my life. It's a strength in hope amid any struggle.

When have you felt most valued as a woman in the Church?

I have felt most valued as a woman in the church when I taught the sacramental classes of penance and holy communion. I felt highly valued knowing I was called to serve and lead those children in their preparations.

What’s your favorite way to pray?

My favorite way to pray is by simply talking with God and our Blessed Mother.

Favorite liturgical holiday?

My favorite liturgical holiday is Holy Thursday. I love the celebration of the last supper, the washing of the feet, and the following days of preparation leading up to the Resurrection.

What do you do for fun?

For fun, I like to sing and dance with my family, go to the movies, go to concerts, and go out to eat.

Three words that describe you — go!

Three words that describe me are: loyal, passionate, and sincere.
